Bertie’s Tomato Aspic
Bertie Taylor’s tomato aspic recipe. An acquired taste, but those who like it like it a lot.
Chicken A La King
Bertie often made this dish. Our families gathered for Sunday dinner every week, alternating between the Taylors and Bartons. It’s a good budget meal that’s quick!
Nanachoccy Cake
This chocolate cake contains no dairy but still tastes great! For food sensitivities, this cake contains egg, cocoa, coconut oil, and starches.
Dusty Potatoes
Another from the wonderful December 1978 Cuisine Magazine issue.
An interesting way to serve potatoes to a group.
Spinach-Mushroom Bake
Another from the December 1978 Cuisine Magazine. It was for a Christmas Dinner menu. Pretty and interesting with the horseradish and nutmeg.
Eggnog Pie
I thought I’d lost this one. Found it while sorting through old stacks of “stuff” after Christmas. This came from the December 1978 issue of Cuisine Magazine. It’s been a favorite for years on special occasions. I often make it in a spring-form pan instead of a pie plate. This can be made through step 5 a day or two ahead.
Chocolate Kahlua Bundt Cake
This was a holiday treat at a Christmas party. Wonderfully easy for rushed cooking season! It came from Kathy Scofield. It freezes well too!
Puckerbrush Road Salad
I love this dressing as a dip with fresh vegetables, especially pea pods…
