serves 4-6

  • 2-3 slices bacon, chopped and browned
  • 4 cups shredded cabbage
  • 2 chopped apples
  • 2/3 cup cider vinegar
  • 2 cups hot water
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 2 Tbs. sugar

Combine all ingredients and simmer gently until cabbage is tender but slightly crisp.  Serve warm!
